Molto amata in Spagna, con la sua esibizione all’ultimo Sónar ha catturato l’attenzione e l’ammirazione di pubblico e critica raggiungendo la notorietà internazionale. Rosalía, la cantautrice già considerata dalla stampa di settore la breakout artist del 2018, arriva in radio da venerdì 12 ottobre con “Malamente”, il singolo da oltre 31 milioni di stream su Spotify e 22 milioni di visualizzazioni su YouTube. Il brano è incluso nel suo atteso secondo album, “El Mal Querer”, in uscita il prossimo 2 novembre, che vede l’artista di Barcellona firmare testi e musiche e co-produrre l’album insieme a El Guincho.
«El Mal Querer rappresenta il modo in cui io intendo il flamenco oggi», ha raccontato Rosalía, «ho lavorato due anni interi della mia vita su questo progetto, costruendolo senza fretta. Mi ha aiutato a migliorare e a crescere come musicista, compositrice e produttrice, e per questo sono grata. Il mio sogno è sempre stato quello di condividere la mia musica con le persone e queste canzoni sono create proprio per tutti».
Il suo innovativo mix di flamenco, elettronica e urban, ha conquistato anche artisti del calibro di Pharrell Williams, Khalid, J Balvin, Juanes, Romeo Santos e persino Pedro Almodóvar che, affascinato dal suo videoclip, ha fatto debuttare la cantautrice ventiquattrenne nel suo nuovo film “Dolor y Gloria” al fianco di Penélope Cruz.
Rosalía ha ricevuto ben 5 nomination ai Latin Grammy 2018 (Record of the Year, Song Of The Year, Best Urban Fusion/Performance, Best Alternative Song e Best Short Form Music Video), diventando così l’artista femminile con maggior numero di candidature della dell’edizione di quest’anno. La cantautrice si era precedentemente aggiudicata il Best New Artist Latin Grammy per l’album di debutto “Los Ángeles”(2017), in cui aveva già avuto modo di dimostrare la sua capacità unica nel combinare le classiche influenze del flamenco con i più contemporanei suoni urban.
Rosalía si è esibita recentemente all’Hollywood Bowl a Los Angeles e in uno showcase con Juanes in occasione dei Latin Grammy a Miami.
